As a Maintenance Operative for our AASC team in Norwich, you will report to the Field Operations Manager and provide essential general maintenance services across a designated portfolio of properties. Your work will ensure that all buildings remain fully compliant, safe, and fit for purpose, meeting strict contractual obligations while delivering prompt and reliable property care.
This is a mobile, community-focused role requiring a valid UK driving licence, where your day-to-day efforts directly influence the standard of living and safety for residents.
Property Maintenance: Deliver general property maintenance services, utilizing the AORA IT system to accurately report, track, and close out defects.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure building standards protect all users, checking vital safety reports (such as asbestos registers or structural surveys) before starting works and adhering strictly to Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Inventory & Furniture Care: Repair Serco-supplied furniture where possible or arrange replacements to comply fully with Home Office contract standards.
Materials & Waste Management: Purchase approved materials, PPE, and tools through designated suppliers using supervisor approvals, maintain proper transaction records, and safely dispose of or recycle works waste at licensed facilities.
Garden Maintenance: Undertake routine garden and grounds maintenance for properties within your designated patch.
Scheduling & Defect Prioritization: Complete all allocated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) work ahead of schedule, followed by general maintenance defects, scheduled planned checks (such as HHSRS annual reports or PAT tests), and patch maintenance tasks.
We are looking for a practical, self-motivated individual with strong DIY skills and a proactive approach to property maintenance.
Practical Experience: Proven general DIY and property maintenance experience.
Mobility: A valid UK driving licence and a willingness and ability to travel within your region (and occasionally across the UK).
Core Competencies: Strong organization, a commitment to health and safety standards, and effective digital literacy for reporting systems.
