Position: Kitchen Assistant / Bank Kitchen Assistant
Location: The Meadows Care Home, Britwell Road, Didcot, Oxfordshire, OX11 7JN (Situated on a quiet residential street near Didcot town centre in a welcoming, cosy environment)
Pay Rate: £13.14 per hour (NVQ & weekend enhancements available)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are partnering to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Bank / Relief Kitchen Assistant for The Meadows in Didcot. Providing compassionate, individualised residential, respite, early-stage dementia, and nursing care for up to 68 residents, The Meadows is a warm and friendly home where mealtimes are a true highlight of the day.
As our Kitchen Assistant, you will join our passionate, hard-working catering team to help prepare and serve delicious meals, snacks, and drinks. By getting to know our residents and understanding their individual preferences, you will help ensure every dining experience is exceptional and personal.
Kitchen Support: Assist the catering team with food preparation, cooking support, plating, and kitchen cleanliness.
Hygiene Standards: Maintain immaculate standards of kitchen hygiene, safety, and cleanliness across all food preparation areas.
Resident Engagement: Build warm relationships with residents to understand their dietary preferences, likes, and dislikes.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the wider catering and care teams to deliver a welcoming, joyful dining experience.
Experience: No previous formal catering experience is required as full training is provided! Holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is helpful, but a passion for cooking and high hygiene standards is what matters most.
Personality: A positive, can-do individual with a friendly, enthusiastic approach and a genuine desire to help others.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage warmly with elderly residents and colleagues.
Competitive Pay: £13.14 per hour, with NVQ and weekend pay enhancements available.
