About the Role
As a Second Chef, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role in the kitchen. Key responsibilities include:
Kitchen Management & Leadership: Managing the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring efficient operations, budget adherence, and stock control.
Culinary Excellence: Using fresh, seasonal produce to cook wholesome, high-quality dishes adhering to the highest standards and HACCP guidelines.
Menu Development: Collaborating with the Head Chef and engaging directly with residents to create appetizing, personalized, and nutritious menus.
Auditing & Standards: Completing regular kitchen audits and helping create a warm, welcoming, and fun environment.
About You
We are looking for a qualified and motivated culinary professional who meets the following criteria:
Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ, or equivalent culinary qualifications.
Knowledge & Experience: A good understanding of nutrition, HACCP, and working with fresh seasonal ingredients.
Attributes: A warm, personable approach, a genuine interest in resident wellbeing, and a strong drive for culinary quality.
