About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Branston to recruit a proactive and dedicated Despatch Team Leader for their busy mash facility in Lincoln.
In this vital supervisory role, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the despatch team, ensuring customer orders are picked accurately and dispatched on time, in full. You'll work closely with other departments, lead by example, and champion continuous improvement to maintain excellence in safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the daily performance of the despatch team against core departmental KPIs.
Order Fulfilment: Ensure all customer orders are dispatched on time, in full, and to strict quality specifications.
Stock & Inventory Control: Maintain precise stock rotation procedures to minimize errors, waste, and stock splits; investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
Equipment & Safety Checks: Ensure thorough pre-use inspections are completed on trailers and Material Handling Equipment (MHE), reporting any defects immediately.
Operational Troubleshooting: Escalate potential delays, shortages, or issues promptly while identifying root causes and practical solutions.
Administration & Handover: Complete all paperwork accurately, utilize systems correctly, and deliver effective shift handovers for operational continuity.
Hands-On Support: Provide hands-on operational support and cover overtime requirements (for holidays and sickness) when necessary to achieve customer delivery targets.
Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency initiatives and foster a collaborative working environment with other departments.
Compliance: Ensure absolute compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards.
Skills & Experience Required
Experience: Previous experience supervising or leading a despatch, warehouse, or logistics team within a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment.
Licence: Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
Communication: Strong written and spoken English with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
Technical Skills: Excellent numeracy, attention to detail, and solid Microsoft Office proficiency (including email and database systems).
Analytical Abilities: Strong data analysis skills with a proven capability to investigate issues and solve problems effectively.
