About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Carer (Residential) for a permanent, full-time night role at Wheatlands Care Home in Much Wenlock.
In this leadership role, you will take charge during night shifts—supervising and guiding the care team, delegating duties, and leading staff training and supervisions. You will also oversee clinical support tasks such as ordering and administering medication, updating care plans, and liaising with GPs, district nursing teams, and family members.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, train, and supervise care staff on shift, delegating tasks effectively.
Administer, order, and store medications safely in line with care guidelines.
Review and update care plans and risk assessments to ensure individualised care.
Liaise with external healthcare professionals (GPs, district nurses) and resident families.
Uphold resident dignity, choices, and safety during night hours.
About You
To excel as a Residential Senior Carer, you will need:
NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care.
Proven experience in a residential care setting with strong team leadership capabilities.
Sound decision-making skills to meet resident health and well-being needs.
A compassionate, warm-hearted, and dedicated approach to person-centred care.
