Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join the catering team on a flexible bank contract. In this role, you will act as a vital link between the kitchen and residents, ensuring that mealtimes are pleasant, nutritious, and beautifully presented.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the essential connection between the main kitchen team and care home residents.

• Assist chefs with plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and maintaining clean, tidy preparation areas.

• Monitor stock rotation while adhering to company policies and mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines.

• Assist with catering for special seasonal events, celebrations, and activities (such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties).

• Maintain high hygiene and dining standards, building warm, positive relationships with residents.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• A genuine passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen environment.

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent qualification).

• Strong understanding of hygiene standards and food safety practices (COSHH & HACCP).

• Excellent communication skills with a friendly, caring, and team-oriented attitude.
