Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Bradford Council to recruit an outgoing, confident, and motivated Recycling Advisor to join the Waste, Fleet & Environment service based at Harris Street Depot.
In this vital community-facing role, you will help meet environmental targets, reduce landfill waste, and encourage positive behaviour change through education, school presentations, and public outreach events.
Reporting to the Recycling Team Leader, you will engage directly with residents, schools, and community groups. Key responsibilities include:
Community Engagement & Education: Delivering educational presentations in schools, hosting activities at community centres, and attending local events to raise environmental awareness.
Waste Advisory Outreach: Engaging with residents to provide guidance on correct waste segregation, reducing contamination, and improving recycling rates.
District Travel & Fieldwork: Traveling across the district (full UK driving licence required) to conduct outdoor outreach in all weather conditions.
Conflict Resolution & Professionalism: Handling challenging situations professionally and managing conflict constructively when addressing waste practices.
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual who meets the following essential criteria:
Essential: A full UK driving licence (please do not apply without one).
Experience: A minimum of two years' experience within a waste management or environmental service role.
Excellent verbal communication, listening, and customer service skills, with the ability to inspire positive behavioural change.
Physically fit and able to walk long distances, with a good awareness of health & safety and the ability to work outdoors.
Note: An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
