Role Overview
Are you an experienced project manager looking for a stable, long-term career within the critical Defence sector? Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with OCS / EMCOR UK to recruit a permanent Project Manager based in Barrow-in-Furness.
In this vital role, you will oversee individual or multiple building services related to minor new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes, ensuring infrastructure remains resilient and compliant across secure environments. Please note: The ability to obtain Security Clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities
Full Project Lifecycle: Take accountability for all phases of the project delivery cycle aligned to the RIBA Plan of Work—including defining, designing, planning, budgeting, delivery, commissioning, and handover.
Commercial & Financial Control: Prepare and refine budget costs, maintain rigorous ongoing budgetary control, handle quotations and approvals, and manage tender processes in line with company policy.
Safety & CDM Compliance: Ensure all works comply with Health and Safety regulations, CDM 2015 standards, and Building Safety Act requirements. Manage Principal Contractor/Designer duties, RAMS review, and permit-to-work systems.
Stakeholder Management: Maintain close working relationships with clients and stakeholders, scheduling regular progress meetings, managing expectations, and resolving emerging requirements or variations.
What You Will Need
Essential Experience: Demonstrable project management experience within FM, M&E, construction, or engineering, with proven expertise in project commercial management, contractor selection, and multi-disciplinary team leadership.
Core Qualifications: Recognized project management certification (e.g., Prince2, APM, PMP), City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3+ in a relevant discipline, and an IOSH or NEBOSH certificate.
Skills: Full IT competency (including scheduling/programming software), strong commercial awareness, and exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Security Clearance: Must be eligible and able to obtain the required Security Clearance.
