We are currently partnering with Circle Health Group—Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare—to find an experienced and visionary Health and Safety Cluster Lead to head safety operations across their Northern cluster sites.
As the Health and Safety Cluster Lead, you will partner with Senior Management Teams (SMTs) to ensure strict adherence to safety legislation, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs), and company policies. Serving as the senior mentor and point of contact for Health and Safety Advisors, you will drive continuous improvement, manage regulatory compliance, and lead high-level risk management and incident investigations across Manchester, Lancaster, and St Helens.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with SMTs across your cluster to ensure full compliance with incumbent H&S legislation, ACOPs, and company policies.
Act as the senior point of contact, providing ongoing support, mentorship, and guidance to Health and Safety Advisors.
Lead cluster-wide initiatives to improve H&S performance, consistency, and compliance, prioritizing actions based on risk assessment.
Demonstrate high compliance standards to regulators including the CQC, HIS, HIW, HSE, EA, and local government authorities.
Coordinate H&S time allocations and site attendance strategies across the cluster.
Identify and share best practices and lessons learned following incidents across cluster locations.
To thrive in this senior safety role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of health and safety management experience within the healthcare sector.
Qualifications: Level 3 qualification in H&S Management, alongside a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards it).
Professional Registration: Active IOSH registration with verifiable evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
Technical Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of health and safety legislation, ACOPs, risk control measures, technical fire safety, and contractor safety management.
Core Competencies: Proven skills in risk assessment, training delivery, presentation, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) / incident investigation, and auditing.
