Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in someone’s life? We’re looking for a caring, reliable, and empathetic Support Worker to join our Dorset Outreach team in Gillingham. This is your opportunity to support a remarkable woman in her 50s living with autism, a learning disability, and epilepsy as she builds a happy, fulfilling life in her own home.
This is a 2:1 support package where you will work closely as part of a small, consistent team to build trust and encourage her to reconnect with things she loves, such as beach walks, drives, and lunches out at her own pace.

Salary: £13.50 per hour

Your Role as a Support Worker
Trust & Confidence: Support confidence and trust-building journeys, helping Susan feel safe in new or unfamiliar situations.
Activities & Hobbies: Encourage activities she enjoys, including music, TV, drives, and beach walks.
Communication: Communicate clearly in her preferred style (utilizing gestures, facial expressions, and writing).
Daily Care: Provide personal care and daily living support while promoting independence and wellbeing in a respectful, person-centred way.
Documentation: Follow support plans with care and accuracy, keeping detailed records and raising any concerns promptly.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Experience with learning disabilities and complex needs is desirable, but not essential.
Approach: A calm, patient, and thoughtful approach with a willingness to learn and work closely with a tight-knit team.
Skills: Ability to follow detailed plans and communication strategies with consistency.
Requirements: A full UK driving licence and a minimum of 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK.
