Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with essential support services to connect skilled practical professionals with meaningful community roles. We are currently recruiting a hands-on and dedicated Maintenance Operative to join the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC) team across Burnley and Rossendale.
In this vital role, you will provide general maintenance and property upkeep across a designated portfolio, ensuring that all managed environments are safe, fully functional, and compliant with Home Office standards. Your work directly improves day-to-day living conditions and supports a positive, safe experience for service users.
As a Maintenance Operative, your responsibilities will include:
Property Maintenance: Deliver general maintenance services, report and close faults using the AORA IT system, and ensure properties are compliant and fit for purpose.
Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to risk assessments, method statements, and property safety reports (such as asbestos checks) prior to undertaking any works.
Repairs & Upkeep: Repair or replace furniture to meet contract standards, carry out garden maintenance, and manage materials using approved suppliers.
Waste & Compliance: Remove and responsibly dispose of waste in licensed recycling areas, and complete KPI-driven tasks, PAT tests, and annual reports on time.
Experience: Practical experience in general DIY or building maintenance.
Licence: A valid UK driving licence is essential, along with a willingness and ability to travel within the region.
Core Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, time-management skills, and a reliable, safety-conscious work ethic.
