Who it's for
Care workers, support workers, healthcare assistants, and anyone working in a UK adult social care setting who meets children through their work
What you'll learn
- Explain what safeguarding children means and why it is part of an adult care worker's role.
- Recognise the main types and signs of abuse, neglect and exploitation, including harm outside the home.
- Describe a child-centred approach and explain why some children face greater risk.
- Outline the laws, guidance and local arrangements that protect children in England, including information sharing.
- Explain what to do if you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, or a child tells you something worrying.
