Role Overview
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will apply theoretical engineering knowledge, concepts, and practices to develop products, specifications, and designs while resolving technical and performance issues. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will design robust solutions, support safety cases, assess designs from a manufacturing perspective, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Core Duties
Apply engineering principles, company processes, and governance under technical supervision to resolve common engineering problems.
Undertake functional design, provide qualification advice, and generate evidence for regulatory compliance, fitness for purpose, and safety.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all requirements are adequately met and integrated.
Support design assurance and provide comprehensive documentation for safety cases.
Develop mechanical engineering solutions and assess designs from a manufacturing standpoint within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Education: HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering.
Technical Software: Proven experience using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
CAD Proficiency: Experience using 2D CAD packages such as AutoCAD.
Communication Skills: Capable of generating professional customer-facing documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
Specialist Knowledge: Specific knowledge of Systems on Boats is highly advantageous.
Security Clearance: Must achieve a minimum of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
