About the Role

At Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are currently recruiting a dedicated full-time Kitchen Assistant on behalf of Barchester Healthcare to join the team at Tandridge Heights Memorial Care Home in Oxted.

In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering first-class catering and hospitality. Working alongside the culinary team, you will assist in meal preparation, maintain high hygiene standards, and help create a warm, fulfilling dining experience for every resident.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Assist chefs with basic meal preparation, baking, and plating nutritious dishes according to resident care plans and dietary needs.

• Dining & Hospitality Support: Help organize dining areas, deliver food and beverages, and interact warmly with residents during mealtimes.

• Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards across food preparation, dishwashing, and equipment storage areas.

• Teamwork: Work collaboratively with kitchen and care staff to ensure smooth daily service.

About You

• Qualities: Reliable, considerate, hard-working, and caring with a high attention to detail.

• Experience: Prior experience in a kitchen, catering, or commercial environment is beneficial, but not required—formal qualifications are not necessary.

• People Skills: Personable and friendly, with a genuine interest in building positive interactions with older adults.

• Standards: A strong commitment to upholding clean, safe, and hygienic food handling practices.
