About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with BAE Systems—a global leader in aerospace, defence, and security—to recruit a dynamic and motivated Undergraduate Electronic Systems Hardware Electronics Engineer in Rochester.
As part of the world-leading Electronic Systems team, you will contribute to cutting-edge controls and display solutions with a 70-year heritage of excellence, including the Striker II Helmet, active control sticks, and flight control computers. This 12-month placement offers an exceptional hands-on platform to gain exposure to the entire project lifecycle, helping maintain existing systems and develop the next generation of technologies.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
Hardware Design & Testing: Apply basic or working knowledge of hardware design tools, conduct laboratory tests, capture data, and perform firmware design, simulation, and modelling.
Analysis & Diagnostics: Assess equipment behavior, carry out fault diagnosis, evaluate new technologies and components, and perform comprehensive data analysis.
Technical Reporting: Prepare clear and professional technical reports to support product development and optimization.
Product Evolution: Work alongside expert teams to make recommendations on electronic product content for avionics systems and optimize hardware/software design concepts.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
Academic Status: On track to obtain at least a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree (or a pass at Master’s level) in Electronics Engineering, or Electronics in combination with Electrical Engineering, Computing, Physics, Communications, or a related electronics discipline.
Working Arrangement: Willingness and capability to work on-site in Rochester 3 to 4 days per week.
Security Clearance: All applicants must achieve, as a minimum, the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Note: Due to national security and export control restrictions, candidates must meet specific nationality, birthplace, and residency criteria.
