Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is currently recruiting a friendly and passionate Kitchen Assistant to join the catering team at Townsend House in Headington, Oxford. Role Overview
Position: Kitchen Assistant
Location: Townsend House Care Home, Bayswater Road, Headington, Oxford, OX3 9NX
Pay Rate: £13.14 per hour (Weekend and NVQ enhancements available)
Contract Type: Permanent, 24 hours per week
Shift Pattern: A mix of shifts (8:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM), working alternate weekends
Closing Date: Monday, 31st August 2026
About Townsend House
Located in the Headington area of Oxford, Townsend House is a welcoming care home offering compassionate residential, early-stage dementia, respite, and day care for up to 45 residents in a supportive and homely environment.
What You Will Be Doing
Working with our passionate and hardworking catering team to prepare delicious meals, snacks, and drinks.
Getting to know residents, learning their likes and dislikes, and ensuring mealtimes are always a highlight of their day.
Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety with a positive, can-do approach.
What We Are Looking For
No formal catering experience required: While a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is helpful, we provide full training—what matters most is your passion for food and kitchen cleanliness.
Great communication skills: Confident in engaging with elderly residents to understand their individual needs and preferences.
A team player: Eager to collaborate with the wider home team and ensure residents receive the best possible service.
