Location: Glasgow (Govan and Scotstoun – Onsite; candidates must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow)
Salary: £40,016 per annum – plus 33% shift allowance where applicable
Shift Patterns: Available across Days (Mon-Thurs, 07:00-16:30), Nights (Mon-Thurs, 20:30-06:00), and Weekends (Fri-Sun, 07:00-19:30)
Job Type: Permanent / Experienced Professionals (Trades, Manufacturing & Operations)

About the Role
As a Pipefitter, you will play a critical role in the prestigious Type 26 programme, fabricating and installing high-quality pipework systems on one of the UK’s most advanced naval shipbuilding projects. Working in a practical, hands-on environment, you will assemble utilities, fittings, and complex pipe networks to keep naval vessels operating at their best.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Fabricate and install large and small-bore pipework systems using various materials (copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel).
Utilize hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, weld, and install pipework.
Install utilities aboard ships, including sinks, showers, and toilets.
Assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Collaborate closely with other trades to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects.
Maintain accurate work records while adhering strictly to safety regulations (including SHE, COSHH, and risk assessment requirements) at all times.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Requirements):
Qualifications: Must possess a Modern Apprenticeship or Trade Papers (SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification). Note: Trade papers must be provided when submitting your application.
Experience: Proven professional experience in pipe manufacture, assembly, and installation within an industrial or commercial environment.
Technical Competence: Solid knowledge of pipefitting methods, safe working practices, and the ability to accurately read and work from engineering drawings and technical schematics.
Safety Mindset: A thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental (SHE/COSHH) standards applied consistently on the job.
Security Note: Due to defense security and export control restrictions, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may also apply, typically requiring 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency.
