Supportive Bridge Staffing is recruiting a Trainee Physics Teacher on behalf of Lift Four Dwellings Secondary in Birmingham. Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Apprenticeship route enables you to earn a full salary while working toward a Level 6 Apprenticeship, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)—with zero tuition fees.
You will gain practical classroom experience from day one, putting pedagogical theory into practice as an apprentice Physics teacher. Throughout the school year, you will be supported by 1-on-1 expert mentoring, weekly structured training modules, and an intensive two-week Summer School to build your confidence before leading classroom sessions independently.
Zero Tuition Fees: On the Apprenticeship route, all higher education and training fees are fully covered.
Earn While You Learn: Receive a full annual salary (£24,444) while qualifying as a Physics teacher.
Triple Qualification: Graduate with a Level 6 Apprenticeship, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
1-on-1 Mentoring & Coaching: Benefit from dedicated guidance, weekly structured feedback, and continuous support from an in-school coach and personal tutor.
Targeted Weekly Training: Spend half a day every week attending structured training modules alongside fellow trainees across the Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.
Mandatory Summer School: A two-week preparatory course (2–13 August 2027) providing a solid foundation in educational theory, lesson planning, and behaviour management.
Degree: Undergraduate degree with a 2:2 classification or above (or equivalent) by the start of the programme. A degree in Physics, STEM, or a related field is preferred; alternatively, a strong A-Level in Physics (Grade C or above) will be considered.
GCSEs: Grade 4/C or above in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
QTS & Residency: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Must possess full Right to Live and Work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
