Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with BAE Systems to source an experienced Consultant Engineer Test & Integration for their Platform Management System (PMS) Control and Indication team in Barrow-in-Furness.

Role Overview
As a Consultant Engineer, you will take technical ownership of system test design, artifact reviews, and testing workflows for the Platform Management System. You will lead a dedicated team of test engineers and specialist contractors, ensuring that all Verification & Validation (V&V) activities align perfectly with company policies, integrated systems procedures, and safety management standards.
Core Duties
Lead a team of test engineers and specialist contractors from a technical perspective to define and deliver comprehensive test programmes.
Identify staff software test training requirements to build and maintain a suitably qualified and experienced (SQEP) test resource.
Communicate vital advice, information, and test input artifact guidance regarding system designs to internal departments and external authorities.
Ensure all software developed for Marine and Control Systems functions undergoes rigorous facility testing and generates the necessary evidence for safe platform commissioning and in-service deployment.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Education & Professional Status: Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards it.
Testing Expertise: Demonstrable software test experience, including automation of unit, module/component integration, and system-level testing within regulated sectors (marine, nuclear, oil & gas, automotive, or aerospace).
Industry Standards: Strong knowledge and experience applying standards such as IEEE Std 829-2008 and IEEE 15288:2015.
Technical Proficiency: Proven background in electrical control systems utilizing Siemens, Rockwell, and GE PLCs, alongside familiarity with WinCC OA.
Security Clearance: Must achieve a minimum of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
