About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are thrilled to partner with Greencore (following their recent combination with Bakkavor) to find skilled technical talent. Greencore is a leading creator of convenience food, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their flagship Northampton facility—a massive 5-unit campus with around 2,000 colleagues—they act as the sole supplier of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, and sushi for Marks & Spencer. We are currently seeking an experienced, night-shift Production Setter to maximize equipment performance and maintain top-tier product output.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Set-Up & Maintenance: Set up, monitor, and perform frontline maintenance on heavy-duty, high-speed machinery to ensure efficient, correct operation.
Downtime Investigation: Analyze and resolve running issues using Short Interval Control (SIC) reviews and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) systems.
Waste & Efficiency Control: Actively work to minimize waste levels and oversee line speed and activity to hit production targets.
Safety & Compliance: Complete safety paperwork, uphold rigorous HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards, and maintain clean work areas.
What We Are Looking For
Technical Background: Prior experience working with heavy-duty and high-speed factory machinery.
Technical Skills: Strong ability to use measurement tools and read manuals, blueprints, and handbooks.
Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of production procedures, safety methods, hazard regulations, and best practices.
Physical & Detail-Oriented: Good physical stamina and keen attention to detail.
