About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of one of our trusted healthcare partners for an experienced Lead Social Worker to join a specialist neurological and mental health service in Warrington, UK.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Social Worker who is passionate about safeguarding, multidisciplinary collaboration, and supporting adults with complex mental health and neurological needs. Working within a highly skilled clinical team, you will lead social work practice, promote recovery-focused care, and ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Social Worker, you will:

Lead and support the social work team in delivering high-quality services.
Take the lead on adult safeguarding across the hospital.
Support safeguarding induction and ongoing staff training.
Conduct comprehensive social work assessments and prepare CPA reports.
Participate in Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers' Hearings.
Lead multidisciplinary discussions regarding Mental Capacity Act assessments and Best Interest decisions.
Provide supervision, mentoring, and appraisals for junior and senior social workers.
Liaise with external agencies including Local Authorities, MAPPA, CMHT, Police, Probation Services, and other statutory organisations.
Support families and carers throughout the patient's recovery journey.
Contribute to service development, governance, and quality improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

Degree or recognised qualification in Social Work.
Registration with Social Work England.
Strong knowledge of relevant social care and mental health legislation.
Minimum of 3–4 years' experience working within a similar healthcare or mental health environment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Commitment to safeguarding and person-centred care.

Desirable

Experience within Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), neurological rehabilitation, or mental health services.
Previous experience supervising or mentoring social work staff.
Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
