Salary: £36,225 to £46,575 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

About the Role
We are acting on behalf of Optegra UK Ltd—recognized by the Sunday Times as one of the Best Big Places to Work—to recruit an experienced Scrub Nurse for Optegra Eye Hospital Yorkshire in Bradford.
In this exciting part-time role, you will participate in all aspects of the ophthalmic surgical pathway, delivering exceptional care to patients. As an essential member of the operating theatre team, you will provide skilled clinical and technical assistance, support peri-operative and post-operative care within the surgical and refractive suite, and assist with minor ophthalmic procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Intra-operative Care & Surgical Assistance
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by preparing and providing appropriate surgical instrumentation and equipment.
Carry out registered healthcare professional duties, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient conditions and care.
Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times while adhering strictly to clinical policies and CQC standards.
2. Equipment Management & Traceability
Ensure all surgical equipment and instrumentation are disposed of correctly, maintaining fully evidenced decontamination and sterilisation protocols for reusable items.
Complete all clinical documentation and traceability records accurately and efficiently.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Registration: Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with current, unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration.
Specialist Experience: Minimum of 1 year of ophthalmology surgical theatre experience, accompanied by a formal qualification in Ophthalmology or Peri-operative care.
Competencies: Strong computer and IT literacy (good working knowledge of Microsoft Office), sound awareness of professional codes of conduct, and familiarity with CQC standards.
