Classroom & Learning Support: Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs to access lesson content, achieve individual learning goals, and build independent study skills.
Small Group & 1:1 Interventions: Guide targeted interventions to support pupils' academic progress and therapeutic, emotional, and social development.
Positive Relationships & Behavior: Build trusted, caring relationships with pupils, maintaining a calm classroom presence and promoting positive behavior.
Collaborative Support: Work closely alongside teachers, pastoral staff, parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure tailored support for every child.
Assessment & Planning support: Assist teachers in reviewing pupil progress and adapting classroom scaffolding to individual needs.
Core Qualities & Attributes:
Resilient, empathetic, patient, and reflective, with a calm presence in the classroom.
Strong communication skills and a passion for supporting children with SEMH needs.
Basic IT skills and a willingness to learn about child development and therapeutic approaches.
Qualifications & Experience:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, or a willingness to work towards Functional Skills qualifications.
Previous experience in a school, care, or youth-work setting is helpful but not essential—attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn are what matter most.
