About the Role

We are acting on behalf of Sterling Practice Ltd—a recognized centre of excellence in speech, language, communication, and neurodevelopment—to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Newly Qualified or experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist.

In this exciting multidisciplinary role, you will work across both clinic-based settings and educational provisions (schools), supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Working alongside Occupational Therapists and specialist clinicians, you will assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based interventions for children presenting with autism spectrum conditions, developmental language disorders, speech sound difficulties, and complex communication needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Assessment & Intervention

• Assess, plan, and deliver tailored speech and language therapy interventions for children and young people across individual and group settings.

• Support children with a diverse range of communication profiles, developing receptive and expressive language, speech clarity, and functional communication skills.

• Maintain accurate clinical records, comprehensive progress reports, and structured therapy plans.

2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Partnership

• Work collaboratively with families, school teachers, and wider multidisciplinary professionals to ensure strategies are practical, consistent, and embedded into everyday life.

• Provide guidance and support to parents and educational staff, fostering a positive, inclusive, and encouraging therapeutic environment.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

• Qualifications & Registration: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, with active Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration (or awaiting registration if newly qualified).

• Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a genuine passion for supporting paediatric communication needs, and the ability to achieve positive clinical outcomes.

• Sponsorship & Vetting: Applications from candidates requiring Skilled Worker visa sponsorship are welcome. Successful completion of criminal record/DBS checks and overseas criminal record certificates (where applicable) will be required.

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge of or practical experience using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Makaton, or Gestalt Language Processing (GLP).

• Familiarity with autism and SEN frameworks and evidence-based interventions used to support complex developmental needs.
