About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Avery Healthcare to recruit a talented, warm, and dedicated Sous Chef (Bank) for Purley Gardens Care Home in Purley.
In this important culinary role, you will support the Head Chef in leading a dedicated kitchen team to provide nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality meals. Your work will directly contribute to the overall health, happiness, and well-being of our residents while operating efficiently within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare modified diets that look visually appealing, are well-balanced, and strictly adhere to IDDSI guidance.
Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff as directed by the Head Chef, offering guidance and training on food preparation to team members.
Apply safe food handling principles to ensure all kitchen operations meet the highest standards of hygiene.
Support all culinary team members in thoroughly understanding and implementing the Avery Food Safety Management System.

What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications: Relevant catering qualifications, such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, an NVQ, or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of professional catering experience.
Passion & Standards: A genuine dedication to delivering top-tier culinary services and exceptional dining experiences for elderly residents.
Flexibility: The ability to adapt and cover a range of shifts and responsibilities at short notice.
