About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate Senior Care Assistant (Nights) on a permanent part-time basis (22 hours per week) on behalf of Alexandra House in Dovercourt—a wonderful home set in beautiful grounds with sea views that provides a supportive and peaceful working environment.
In this key night leadership role, you will support the Home Manager and senior team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care through the night, while leading, motivating, and developing care colleagues. You will take charge during shifts, deputise when required, administer medication, and help maintain a calm, secure, and respectful environment that promotes resident dignity and comfort.
What You Will Need
Experience: Previous professional experience working in a care setting, including shift-leading or deputising experience and medication administration.
Qualifications: A Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent) is desirable, or a willingness to work towards this.
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, good IT literacy (email/basic office systems), and the ability to lead and motivate a team overnight.
Proximity & Attitude: A flexible approach to work, sensitivity to the needs of older people, and ideally living within 15 miles of Harwich/Dovercourt (CO12 3JY) for a manageable commute.
