Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (30 hours a week, 120 hours per month; shifts include 08:00–20:00 short days, 20:00–08:00 short nights, and 08:00–08:00 long days)
About the Role
We are partnering with the prestigious Cromwell Hospital in London to find an anaesthetic or Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) speciality doctor or trainee to join our Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As an RMO through Supportive Bridge, you will work within a supportive, collaborative department dedicated to clinical excellence, teaching, and quality improvement. You will play a crucial role in managing complex medical patients with critical illness while developing your clinical skills across a wide range of specialties alongside a team of 5 full-time resident medical officers.
Key Responsibilities
Hold day-to-day responsibility for the management of all patients on the ICU in close collaboration with the Intensive Care consultant.
Participate in full multidisciplinary team (MDT) ward rounds each morning and secondary clinical rounds every evening, including weekends and holidays.
Review and assess direct referrals to the ICU or via the Outreach service.
Contribute to the development and updating of administrative and clinical protocols.
Actively participate in hospital education programmes, internal seminars, Journal Clubs, clinical audits, and Morbidity and Mortality Meetings.
Engage in the hospital's quality improvement action plan, adverse incident reporting, and personal research projects.
What We Are Looking For
Anaesthetic or Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) specialty doctor or trainee.
Broad training in all aspects of Intensive Care Medicine with a strong ability to manage acutely unwell, deteriorating, or dying patients (including end-of-life care).
Excellent command of spoken and written English, paired with strong technical writing and analytical skills.
Evidence of an interest in research, a desire to develop personal projects, and the ability to present with authority at conferences and seminars.
Organised, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing work with minimal supervision while meeting tight deadlines.
