About the Role
Jump-start your research career with an immersive 12-week summer internship working on cutting-edge data science topics across defense, security, and commercial sectors. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams specializing in reinforcement learning, NLP, knowledge graphs, graph-based neural nets, AI for RF/EW, and sonar/acoustics, while developing prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrators in partnership with leading universities.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Undertake novel research in advanced data science and applied AI topic areas.
Build prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrators for defense, security, and commercial applications.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
Collaborate with and receive training from multidisciplinary teams working across reinforcement learning, NLP, knowledge graphs, and AI for RF/EW and acoustics.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications):
Academic Background: Must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a minimum of a 2:2 in your undergraduate degree in a relevant STEM subject (such as Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Electronic/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering, or Physics). Note: An AI-related Master’s degree is also considered beneficial for future graduate roles.
Passion for Research: Demonstrated active interest in applied AI research and data-driven problem solving.
Security Note: Due to defense and security regulations, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may apply where required.
