About the Role

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Kitchen Assistant (Bank) to join the award-winning team at Frognal House Care Home, operated by Avery Healthcare. In this flexible role, you will support the catering department with food preparation and maintain a pristine, safe environment for the production of meals and beverages, ensuring a high-quality, comprehensive service is delivered to our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply the principles of safe food handling to ensure all food preparation is conducted to the highest standards of hygiene.

• Contribute fully to teamwork, responding positively to colleagues and following work instructions promptly.

• Assist with monitoring supply levels and quality, advising on the timely ordering of replacement goods.

• Interact respectfully with residents and visitors, always honoring the dignity and individuality of each resident.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualifications & Certifications: Must hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and demonstrate high standards of personal hygiene.

• Knowledge & Skills: Understanding of Health and Safety practices, particularly Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.

• Attributes: An efficient worker capable of sustained physical effort to manage a demanding workload, combined with initiative, a positive team attitude, and a caring, understanding approach toward residents.
