Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Five Rivers Child Care Ltd to recruit a dedicated Teacher (Maths/Science) for Clannad School in Orpington. This is a vital opportunity to make a transformative difference for children and young people who may not thrive in mainstream educational settings and require a flexible, creative, and therapeutic approach to learning.
Operating within a trauma-informed framework under the leadership of Headteacher Utibe-Abasi Umoren, you will plan and deliver engaging, personalized Maths and Science lessons designed to help pupils build confidence, develop essential life skills, and re-engage with education. Working collaboratively within a supportive multi-disciplinary team, you will foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment where every young person feels valued, respected, and understood.
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, creative Maths and Science lessons tailored to diverse and individual learning needs.
Progress Tracking: Assess, monitor, and carefully track pupil academic, social, and emotional progress.
Therapeutic Environment: Cultivate a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom setting that prioritizes emotional regulation and relational practice.
Collaboration: Work closely within a multi-disciplinary team to support pupils' holistic development and successful educational journeys.
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Subject Focus: Experience teaching Maths and/or Science.
Core Competencies: Strong classroom and behavior management skills, excellent communication, and strong organizational abilities.
Approach: A flexible, child-centred teaching style combined with resilience, compassion, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. (Experience in specialist or alternative education is beneficial, though transferable skills are warmly welcomed.)
