Position Type: Permanent | Full-Time (37 Hours/Week, 52.143 Weeks/Year – All Year Round)
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts across: Early (6:00am – 2:00pm), Day (8:00am – 4:00pm), and Late (11:00am – 7:00pm)
Salary: £29,542.00 – £32,046.00 per annum + Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) & Lift Schools Benefits

Supportive Bridge Staffing is excited to represent Lift Unity City in hiring a practical, reliable, and hands-on School Facilities Manager / Caretaker.
Working closely with the School Operations Manager and Area Site Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep, security, and maintenance of the school site. From opening and securing the premises to conducting safety inspections, carrying out general repairs, and setting up spaces for activities, you will ensure our buildings and grounds remain safe, clean, and fit for purpose every day.
Site Security & Access: Manage site access (opening/closing), act as a keyholder, and respond to emergency out-of-hours call-outs when necessary.
Maintenance & Minor Repairs: Carry out routine DIY, minor maintenance, and repair tasks to keep facilities in top condition.
Health & Safety Compliance: Perform daily, weekly, and statutory health and safety checks, maintaining accurate digital and physical inspection records.
Contractor & Systems Monitoring: Monitor external contractors working on-site; support the safe operation of fire alarms, intruder alarms, and security systems.
Logistics & Event Setup: Move furniture, supplies, and deliveries; prepare rooms and communal areas for school events, meetings, and community lettings.
Safety & Standards: Maintain strict compliance with safeguarding practices, health and safety policies, and COSHH regulations at all times. (Note: Electrical work is excluded from this role).
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
Full UK driving license.
Physical ability to undertake active duties, including heavy lifting and manual labor.
Proven experience in premises management, caretaking, building maintenance, or facilities support.
Solid practical DIY/repair skills and basic IT literacy.
Strong working knowledge of COSHH regulations and health and safety procedures.
Desirable Criteria:
Basic plumbing experience/skills.
Facilities Services Operative Level 2 qualification or formal Health & Safety certification.
