Role Overview & Highlights
Job Title: Registered Nurse (Nights)
Location: The Sidcup Care Home, 2-8 Hatherley Rd, Sidcup, DA14 4BG
Pay Rate: £19.90 - £22.50 per hour
Bonus: £1,000 Welcome Bonus (paid after four weeks of service)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time (36 hours per week, working 3 x 12-hour night shifts)
As a Night Registered Nurse, you will take full responsibility for resident well-being during the night shift. Operating with strong critical thinking and self-reliance, you will oversee care quality, manage unit tasks, and deliver clinical guidance to the care team.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Assessments: Ensure physical, emotional, and social needs are met by carrying out assessments, managing individual care plans, and overseeing medication administration.
Night Shift Leadership: Exercise strong autonomous decision-making and critical thinking to manage care staff safely and remain calm in emergency situations.
Team Coaching: Coach, guide, and mentor colleagues through formal and informal training programs to uphold clinical standards.
Compliance & Safety: Monitor work areas and practices to ensure adherence to CQC standards, safety regulations, and Bupa policies.
Family Communication: Build trusting, kind connections with residents and their families, providing clear clinical updates and compassionate support.
Key Skills & Qualifications Needed
Registration: A valid NMC pin with active registration.
Clinical Experience: Proven background in maintaining high clinical standards, managing care plans, and handling medication.
Night Shift Readiness: Self-reliant, confident, and calm under pressure with strong communication skills for effective clinical handovers.
