About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for a dedicated Support Worker on behalf of Gateholme, an established residential service operated by Priory—the UK’s leading independent provider of adult social care.

Set in the lovely countryside surroundings of Carr Gate, Wakefield, Gateholme offers a specialized residential environment for 39 individuals with a variety of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and complex care requirements. The dedicated team focuses entirely on a person-centred approach, empowering each individual to build their independence, hit personal milestones, and live their absolute best life.

Shift Patterns & Hours

This is a full-time position with structured day shifts. Because care is provided 24/7, weekend work will be required as part of the schedule.

Hours: 07:30 to 19:30

Key Responsibilities

Working in collaboration with senior and clinical staff, you will play an active role in fulfilling personalized care plans. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

Personalized Daily Care: Assisting residents with daily living tasks, including personal care (washing, dressing, eating) and maintaining a comfortable environment.
Mobility & Wellbeing: Helping with safe lifting, transferring, and repositioning of individuals as required.
Health Tracking: Observing, monitoring, and recording residents' physical and emotional wellbeing, ensuring any changes are promptly escalated to senior team members.
Community & Family Connections: Escorting residents to medical appointments, encouraging participation in social/recreational activities, and helping maintain meaningful family links.
Multi-Agency Support: Liaising with external specialists, such as Speech & Language Therapists and specialized Learning Disability teams, to provide unified care.

Qualifications: A care or healthcare certificate is desirable but not essential—Gateholme provides full, robust training.
