Theatre Practitioner - Scrub

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of Supportive Bridge Limited for a detail-oriented and empathetic Scrub Practitioner / Operating Department Practitioner (RGN / ODP) to join their perioperative team at Plymouth Hospital in Plymouth, UK.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality perioperative care across a diverse surgical caseload within a modern hospital setting. Utilizing advanced surgical technology, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure clinical effectiveness and evidence-based patient outcomes.

Role Description

As a Scrub Practitioner / Theatre Practitioner, you will support surgical operations across specialties such as Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, and Neurosurgery across three main operating theatres. Working 37.5 hours per week (including weekend shifts), you will prepare surgical environments, maintain scrub standards, and supervise junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional perioperative scrub care across a varied surgical caseload in digital and laminar flow theatres.

• Maintain strict clinical standards, sterile fields, and evidence-based patient safety protocols throughout procedures.

• Supervise, mentor, and support the clinical development of junior perioperative team members.

Requirements

• Active registration as a Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).

• Proven post-registration scrub experience within an operating theatre environment.

• Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and a commitment to multidisciplinary patient care.
