Role Overview

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Diagnostic Imaging Booking Agent to join our team on a flexible bank contract. In this key administrative role, you will deliver a patient-focused, responsive radiology booking service, coordinating referrals and appointments across multiple imaging modalities within a clinically governed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage diagnostic imaging bookings across multiple modalities, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, DEXA, and Mammography.

• Interpret clinical referrals and indications to ensure accurate scan scheduling and compliance with IR(ME)R regulations, safety protocols, and pregnancy status checks.

• Communicate vital preparation instructions, handle complex patient queries (concerning implants, claustrophobia, or radiation), and support anxious patients.

• Liaise daily with radiologists, radiographers, nurses, and referring clinicians to maintain seamless patient journeys and meet key booking KPIs.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience working within a private healthcare environment, hospital, or dedicated booking/contact centre.

• Previous background or familiarity within a radiology or diagnostic imaging department, including knowledge of modality-based booking rules or MRI safety.

• Excellent written and spoken English with an exceptional telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workloads under pressure and navigate multiple IT systems efficiently.

• AMSPAR Medical Terminology qualification or similar is advantageous.
