Supportive Bridge Staffing is seeking a Trainee English Teacher on behalf of Lift Kingswood in Hull. Delivered in partnership with Ark Teacher Training, this school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Apprenticeship route gives you the opportunity to earn a full salary while training to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and a Level 6 Apprenticeship—with zero tuition fees.
You will spend the majority of your time gaining practical, hands-on teaching experience directly in an Outstanding classroom setting, putting pedagogical theory into practice alongside dedicated 1-on-1 mentoring, weekly structured training sessions, and a two-week Summer School to prepare you for the year ahead.
Zero Tuition Fees: All university and training fees are fully covered through the Apprenticeship route.
Earn While You Learn: Receive a full annual salary (£24,444) as an apprentice English teacher.
1-on-1 Mentoring & Coaching: Benefit from weekly feedback, a dedicated subject tutor, and an in-school mentor to guide your classroom practice and professional growth.
Targeted Weekly Training: Spend half a day every week in structured training modules alongside fellow trainees across the Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools networks.
Mandatory Summer School: A two-week preparatory course (2–13 August 2027) providing a solid foundation in educational theory, lesson planning, and behaviour management.
Degree: Undergraduate degree with a 2:2 classification or above (or equivalent) by the start of the programme. A degree in English (or a related field) is preferred; alternatively, a strong A-Level in English Language (Grade C or above) will be considered.
GCSEs: Grade 4/C or above in GCSE English & Mathematics (or equivalent).
QTS & Residency: Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Must hold full Right to Live and Work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
