About the Role
Join our esteemed manufacturing and defence client and be part of something bigger! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this dynamic Senior Manufacturing Engineer position on behalf of BAE Systems.
In this role based at Govan on the Clyde, you will develop, implement, improve, and govern optimal manufacturing, assembly, and installation methods for Naval Ships. You will play a pivotal leadership part in shaping the future legacy of shipbuilding, influencing design intent, and ensuring products meet rigorous safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Method Optimization: Influence, collaborate, and coordinate manufacturing engineering activities to define optimum manufacturing processes and verification methods.
Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and motivate assigned team members through open, honest communication, coaching, and guidance.
Engineering Approvals: Create, define, and approve facilities, equipment, tooling, manufacturing instructions, policies, and process instructions.
Product Design Influence: Collaborate to understand and influence product design, optimizing items for manufacturing and operational capabilities.
Improvement & Investment Projects: Create and support benefit cases for funded improvements, managing facility investment projects from concept to commissioning.
Data Analysis & Planning: Observe, collate, and analyze data to make recommendations while planning activities to meet project and programme requirements.
What We Are Looking For
Industry Experience: Proven background in Manufacturing, Process, or Method Planning, NC Programming, Tool Definition, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Systems Implementation, or Facility Investment activities.
Technical Literacy: Ability to understand and interpret requirements, specifications, engineering models, and technical outputs.
Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze problems down to root causes using recognized techniques and methodical thinking.
Commercial Awareness: A strong grasp of cost, quality, and schedule drivers, coupled with robust project and task management capabilities.
