Support Worker

Turning Point is recruiting Support Workers for its supported living services in Gloucester, at Minsterworth and Hucclecote, about 10 minutes from the city centre by bus. Each service supports 5 tenants with daily living and personal care, and with activities such as swimming, art, sailing, hydrotherapy, walks and horse riding. The role mixes day and night shifts, and you must be able to work both.

What you will do:

• Promote the independence of the people you support
• Help with cooking, cleaning, days out and holidays
• Arrange activities at home and in the community and build life skills
• Help with personal care, manual handling and medication
• Keep records to the required standard

What they ask for:

• A caring, enthusiastic, flexible, patient and non-judgemental person
• Good communication and teamwork
• Able to do the physical parts of the job, such as manual handling
• Knowledge of learning disabilities is helpful but not essential

Pay stated by the employer: £12.84 per hour (£24,773 a year at 37 hours, £30,128 at 45 hours). Holiday: 29 days a year, rising to 31 with service (pro rata). Turning Point states this position does not meet the requirements for visa sponsorship. Closing date: 28 November 2026.
