About the Role

As the Care Home Deputy Manager at Wakehurst Hall, you will support the delivery of the exceptional, person-centred care Barchester is renowned for. Working closely with the General Manager and taking full leadership responsibility in their absence, you will help oversee care standards, motivate a multidisciplinary team, and ensure every resident enjoys the highest possible quality of life.

You will lead by example through regular audits, supervised clinical practice, and rigorous regulatory compliance, drawing on your strategic skills to achieve the home's goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager and take on leadership duties across the home in their absence.

• Monitor and maintain high care standards through regular audits, supervised practice, and compliance checks.

• Manage safeguarding investigations, clinical risk assessments, and health and safety protocols.

• Inspire, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary care team to deliver outstanding person-centred support.

• Assist with operational management, including HR support, budget oversight, and community engagement.

• Experience: Proven experience supporting residents with diverse health needs, managing safeguarding investigations, and handling clinical risk assessments.

• Skills: Strong knowledge of budget management, HR processes, and sales/marketing principles within a care environment.
