About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Morrisons to recruit a skilled and customer-focused Market Street Butcher for their store in Camberwell.

In this exciting role, you will be the face of our fresh butcher counter. Whether you are a trained butcher or possess strong butchery and knife skills from working behind a butcher counter or in a professional kitchen, you will bring your flair for boning, cutting, preparing, and flavoring different meats to an impressive standard while delivering outstanding service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare meat primals for sale to company specifications—including cutting, pricing, weighing, steaking, dicing, mincing, boning, flavoring, and wrapping using appropriate equipment (knives, saws, mallets, mincing machines).

• Ensure high customer confidence in the availability of fresh meat cuts and pre-packaged meat products.

• Maintain quality, fresh, and attractive food displays throughout the trading day to promote sales.

• Produce tailored meat cuts based on customer requirements, including online customer orders.

• Deliver friendly, helpful service that highlights traditional skills and fresh products, creating moments that matter for every shopper.

• Work flexibly across other fresh counters on Market Street when needed.

What The Role Requires

• Proven butchery or knife skills/experience (from a retail counter or professional kitchen background).

• A friendly, supportive approach with a passion for meeting new people and going above and beyond for customers.

• Enjoys staying active and working in a fast-paced, varied environment.

• Able to use a range of specialist equipment while maintaining high standards of health and safety.

• Comfortable working flexibly across other fresh counters on Market Street.

• Must be over the school leaver’s age.
