At Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are currently recruiting a Maintenance Assistant on behalf of Barchester Healthcare to join the team at Silverbirch House Care Home in Guildford.
In this varied role, you will help keep the home’s building, fixtures, and grounds maintained to the highest standards. From routine repairs and safety checks to ensuring the grounds look welcoming, your work will create the safe and attractive surroundings that residents and their families expect and deserve.
Key Responsibilities
Building & Grounds Maintenance: Carry out general repairs, routine maintenance, painting, and upkeep across resident rooms, communal spaces, and outdoor areas.
Safety & Compliance: Assist with essential health and safety checks, fire alarm testing, and water temperature monitoring to ensure a safe environment.
First Impressions: Maintain the interior and exterior of the facility to ensure the care home always presents a clean, safe, and attractive appearance.
Resident Focus: Interact warmly, respectfully, and patiently with residents while completing maintenance tasks around the home.
About You
Experience: Practical experience in property maintenance, general DIY, trade work, or building repairs.
Qualities: Reliable, practical, patient, and caring with a genuine interest in supporting the well-being of residents.
Key Strengths: Strong attention to detail, a proactive "can-do" attitude, and the ability to work independently on daily task lists.
