The Opportunity
We have partnered with a leading financial services organization to recruit an experienced Data QA Engineer into their established data team.
Please note: Candidates must hold the full, correct right to work in the UK (sponsorship is unavailable), and be able to commute into either our Manchester or London office 1 to 2 days per week.
This is an exciting opportunity to join as the first dedicated Data QA professional, taking full ownership of data quality assurance across growing volumes of incoming data. You will play a crucial role in mitigating risk and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of core business data assets.
Key Responsibilities
Drive hands-on test automation using Python or comparable modern technologies.
Perform complex SQL-based data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis.
Test data warehouses, data lakes, and intricate ETL/data pipelines.
Ensure stringent data quality, governance, and integrity standards across financial workflows.
Execute functional, regression, integration, and performance testing with end-to-end defect lifecycle management.
Collaborate closely with data engineering and business stakeholders to safeguard loan servicing and lifecycle data (including arrears, recoveries, and asset resolution).
What We’re Looking For
Proven commercial experience in a dedicated Data QA or Data Testing role within financial services or regulated environments.
Strong hands-on test automation capabilities using Python.
Advanced SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation.
Experience testing data lakes, data warehouses, and modern cloud data platforms (such as Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Azure data services).
Familiarity with loan servicing, arrears, and financial lifecycle data.
Full, unrestricted right to work in the UK.
