We are currently seeking a dedicated General Operative for the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services (AASC) contract across the West Midlands, East Midlands, and East of England regions.
In this role, you will report to the Field Operations Manager, providing vital general maintenance, property upkeep, and garden maintenance services to ensure our properties remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
As a General Operative, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Property Maintenance: Provide general maintenance and repairs, ensuring properties meet high contract standards and compliance regulations.
Fault Reporting & Scheduling: Log and close faults efficiently using the AORA IT system, prioritizing KPI work and handling planned maintenance tasks (such as HHSRS reports and PAT testing).
Safety & Compliance: Review safety reports (e.g., asbestos, risk assessments, and method statements) before undertaking any works to ensure a secure environment for all property users.
Furniture & Materials: Repair or replace furniture to meet contract standards, and responsibly manage material and PPE purchases using approved supplier accounts.
Waste & Grounds: Handle safe waste disposal in licensed recycling areas and perform regular garden maintenance duties for assigned properties.
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (8 hours per day, flexible between 08:00 and 18:00).
Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel within the region and occasionally across the UK.
Experience: Practical general DIY experience is required.
