Salary: £40,016 per annum (Plus 33% shift allowance where applicable)
Shift Patterns: Available across Days (Mon–Thu, 07:00–16:30), Nights (Mon–Thu, 20:30–06:00), and Weekends (Fri–Sun, 07:00–19:30)

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with BAE Systems—a global leader in defence, aerospace, and security—to source a skilled and qualified Sheet Metal Worker for a permanent career opportunity in Glasgow.
As part of a dedicated team delivering upgrades, refurbishments, and new installations across secure BAE Systems sites, you will play a hands-on role in manufacturing high-quality HVAC systems, ventilation, and internal fittings for world-class naval vessels. This permanent position offers an extraordinary platform to showcase your craftsmanship within a major industrial and marine environment.
Working on-site across Govan and Scotstoun, you will interpret engineering drawings to measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials using various hand and power tools. You will produce accurate, well-finished work while applying practical problem-solving skills to ensure correct fits and safe installations.
Component Manufacturing: Manufacture and install high-quality sheet metal components, including specialized ventilation systems and internal fittings/furniture.
Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to accurately measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials using hand and power tools.
Precision & Quality: Produce accurate, well-finished work with high attention to detail, meeting rigorous standards and quality expectations.
Problem Solving: Apply practical problem-solving skills to resolve issues during manufacturing and installation, ensuring correct fit and safe completion.
Collaborative Safety: Work collaboratively within a skilled team of 6–12 to maintain a safe environment adhering strictly to SHE and COSHH requirements.
Apprenticeship / Certification: Hold a recognised Modern Apprenticeship, Trade Papers, or SVQ/NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent). (Note: Modern Apprenticeship / Trade Papers must be provided when submitting your application).
Industry Experience: Proven practical experience from construction, manufacturing, marine, or other engineering environments.
Safety Awareness: Solid understanding of SHE, COSHH requirements, and safe working practices.
Working Arrangement: Full on-site presence in Glasgow (Govan/Scotstoun), with the ability to attend an in-person recruitment day.
Security Clearance: All applicants must achieve, as a minimum, the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Note: Due to security and export control restrictions, candidates must meet national identity, birthplace, and residency criteria (typically requiring continuous UK residency of 5 to 10 years for higher-level national security vetting).
