At Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency, we are currently hiring a Bank Chef on behalf of Barchester Healthcare to join the team at Windmill Manor Care Home. In this role, you will deliver hotel and restaurant-standard dining without the split shifts and grueling hours typical of standard kitchen environments.
Working alongside the Head Chef, you will assist in crafting nutritious, flavorful, and balanced menus tailored to the personal preferences and dietary needs of residents. Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Leadership: Assist in managing kitchen operations and leading the culinary team in the Head Chef’s absence.
Quality & Freshness: Prepare high-quality, wholesome dishes using fresh, seasonal produce cooked to exceptional standards.
Menu Development: Help create appetizing menus that cater to resident preferences, nutrition guidelines, and dietary requirements.
Operations & Compliance: Oversee stock control, work within set budgets, maintain HACCP standards, and complete regular kitchen audits.
Team Environment: Help build a warm, efficient, and inspiring kitchen culture.
Requirements
Qualifications: City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ (or equivalent professional culinary qualification).
Experience: Background in working with fresh seasonal food, with proven experience assisting in team leadership.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of nutrition guidelines and HACCP food safety protocols.
