We are currently recruiting on behalf of Medequip Assistive Technology Ltd—the UK’s leading provider of community equipment services to the NHS and local authorities—as they look for a dedicated Driver Technician to join their team at the Alfreton Depot.
About the Role
As a Driver Technician, you will be delivering, installing, and demonstrating life-enhancing medical equipment directly to people's homes. This is much more than just a driving role; you will be a vital face of the organization, providing reassurance, exceptional customer service, and ensuring that vulnerable and elderly individuals can maintain their independence.
This role requires a flexible approach to working hours and includes participating in an emergency on-call rota to support community needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive to customer homes, acting in a respectful, polite, and approachable manner.
Deliver, collect, install, and carry out basic repairs on healthcare and medical equipment.
Demonstrate the use and functionality of equipment clearly and safely to customers.
Perform basic DIY tasks associated with equipment setup.
Deliver a first-class, person-centred service characterized by care, empathy, integrity, and kindness.
Work flexibly to suit business requirements and participate in an emergency on-call rota.
About You
You are a reliable, hands-on professional who shares Medequip’s core values of integrity, empathy, teamwork, and excellence.
Driving Requirements: You must hold a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years.
Skills: Good communication skills with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Personal Qualities: Compassionate, respectful, patient, and adaptable to flexible scheduling needs.
Right to Work: Candidates must possess the full, satisfactory right to work in the UK (this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship).
