Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with essential healthcare providers to connect customer-focused security professionals with critical public service roles. We are currently recruiting a dedicated Security Officer to join our team at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
In this vital role, you will act as a visible, trusted presence across hospital sites, keeping NHS environments safe, calm, and welcoming. By protecting patients, staff, and visitors, and handling incidents with professionalism and care, your work ensures that healthcare operations can continue without disruption.
As a Security Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Site Security: Maintain a professional, highly visible security presence across hospital buildings, car parks, and site boundaries in line with HSE regulations.
Patrols & Monitoring: Carry out regular foot patrols, monitor access points, operate CCTV, radio, and control room systems, and respond to alarms.
Emergency Response: Act as a first-line emergency responder, using conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques calmly and effectively.
Reporting: Complete accurate, confidential incident logs and reports.
Customer Care: Serve as a positive ambassador, treating everyone with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Licences: Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence and SIA CCTV licence are essential.
First Aid: Current First Aid qualification in line with SIA requirements.
Experience: Background in a customer-facing security role, preferably within healthcare or a similar fast-paced environment.
Flexibility: A mandatory requirement to be flexible toward shift changes at short notice to meet business needs.
Core Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, and confidence using IT systems.
This role requires BS7858 screening (comprising criminal record checks, employment history, and financial verification in line with security industry standards), alongside an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
