The Opportunity
We are supporting a major UK government technology programme expanding its engineering capability as part of a large-scale cloud and digital transformation.
We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to join a high-performing Agile engineering team responsible for delivering modern cloud-native applications, secure digital services, and critical operational platforms. This is not a traditional external coaching role; you will be embedded directly within a technical team, partnering closely with Software, DevOps, and QA Automation Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate core Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Partner with Product Owners to refine and prioritize product backlogs, enhancing ticket quality and sprint readiness.
Proactively remove blockers and manage cross-team dependencies.
Support delivery planning, forecasting, and transparent progress reporting.
Help the team continuously improve delivery performance, flow, and overall Agile maturity.
Balance modern Agile ways of working smoothly with the governance and assurance needs of secure government delivery.
What We’re Looking For
Proven commercial experience as a Scrum Master supporting software engineering or technical delivery teams.
Strong facilitation skills across Agile ceremonies with excellent backlog refinement capability.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience delivering within Government, Defence, Law Enforcement, or other highly regulated environments.
Beneficial: Exposure to AWS or cloud-native engineering teams, CI/CD pipelines, and Jira/Confluence.
Security Clearance: Candidates must hold active SC Clearance (or DV Clearance) as a minimum.
