We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Swimming Teacher to join the team at Wyndley Leisure Centre on behalf of the Birmingham Community Leisure Trust.
In this vital role, you will help promote active, healthy lifestyles across the local community by delivering engaging swimming lessons. By inspiring swimmers of all abilities, ensuring safety, and building confidence in the water, your work directly supports healthier and happier lives for everyone.
What You’ll Do
As a Swimming Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Lesson Planning & Delivery: Plan and deliver tailored lessons to suit each individual swimmer in the class.
Technique Guidance: Provide clear explanations and demonstrations of swimming techniques, correct technique faults, and identify ways for participants to improve their performance.
Participant Development: Identify individual abilities and encourage every swimmer to reach their full potential.
Safety & Equipment: Ensure strict adherence to safety standards in every lesson and maintain the safe provision and correct use of all equipment.
What You’ll Need
Qualifications: You must hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or a Swim England (previously ASA) Level 2 qualification.
Swimming Ability: Strong, confident swimming skills.
Customer Skills: Lots of enthusiasm, a welcoming smile, excellent customer service skills, and a friendly approach when dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Bonus Qualifications: Holding a valid RLSS UK NPLQ, RLSS UK NRASTC, or STA Safety qualification is advantageous (free training can be provided to complete these courses if needed).
