Supportive Bridge Staffing is seeking a skilled, ambitious, and student-focused Careers Advisor to join our client, Lift Kingswood—a regional beacon of educational excellence in Hull.
Working under the direction of the Careers Lead, you will play a vital role in delivering professional 1-on-1 guidance, group workshops, and strategic CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance) programmes. You will empower students to discover meaningful career pathways, build practical employment skills, understand current market trends, and make informed choices for post-16 and post-18 destinations (further education, higher education, and apprenticeships).
1-on-1 Guidance & Action Planning: Deliver tailored individual career guidance, conduct mock interviews, and produce structured action plans to secure positive Year 11 and Year 13 student destinations.
Programme Delivery & Gatsby Benchmarks: Collaborate on the delivery of the school’s career strategy, organizing workshops on CV writing, interview techniques, and job search strategies in line with Gatsby Benchmarks.
LMI & Resource Management: Maintain up-to-date career resources, digital tools, and Labour Market Information (LMI) covering further education, higher education, training, and apprenticeship routes.
Employer & Partner Networks: Build and expand connections with regional employers, colleges, universities, and training providers to coordinate work experience, placements, and career events.
Inclusive & Specialist Support: Partner with families, carers, and SEND teams to ensure career provision is fully accessible and tailored to all student needs.
Tracking, Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all guidance sessions, track long-term destination metrics, and report regularly on CEIAG outcomes to the Careers Leader and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Qualifications & Training:
Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development (or equivalent).
Level 2 qualifications in GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent).
Experience & Expertise:
Proven track record of delivering professional careers guidance, ideally within a secondary school, college, or youth-focused setting.
Deep understanding of current Labour Market Information (LMI), post-16/18 pathways (including apprenticeships, FE, and HE), and Gatsby Benchmarks.
Core Qualities:
Excellent communication skills for small group workshops, presentations, and individual guidance sessions.
Empathetic, patient, and adaptable demeanor with the ability to build rapport with diverse groups of young people.
